Yale University Library News, Events and Exhibits: Yale Center for British Art Reference Library extends its hours of operation
Yale Center for British Art Reference Library extends its hours of operation
In an effort to expand access to its reference collections, the YCBA Library will extend its hours beginning in the fall of 2006 to include one evening a week as well as all day Saturday and Sunday.
The new hours for the Library will be: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday: 10:00 am to 4:30 pm; Wednesday: 10:00 am to 8:00 pm; and Sunday from noon to 4:30 pm.
The library will be closed Mondays.
Located on the second floor of the Center, the Reference Library holds over 30,000 items in a variety of formats supporting the study of British visual arts and culture. In addition to materials on art and artists, the collection also includes resources on British architecture, history, literature, and the performing arts. It also houses artist monographs; exhibition, sales, and auction catalogues; British biographies; town and county histories; travel books; costume histories; and materials on art conservation. All Reference Library holdings are non-circulating and are represented in ORBIS, Yale's online catalog. The Library is open to the public and additional information can be found at the Library portion of the Museum’s Web site.
