Yale University Library News, Events and Exhibits: ID Required for Access to Mudd Library and GDIC ID Required for Access to Mudd Library and GDIC

Beginning Monday, February 11, a valid Yale ID with proxy card status will be required for entrance to the Mudd Library building. Proxy cards feature a number on the lower left of the verso of the ID card. Non-Yale affiliates must visit the Privileges Office in Sterling Memorial Library to get a temporary privileges card in order to be permitted entrance to the Mudd Library.

Security equipment has also been installed outside the main entrance to and throughout the Mudd Library. This was done in response to a security audit conducted last year by the University. Those who wish to enter the Mudd Library must display a valid ID with proxy card status (attainable at the Yale ID office) at the card reader outside the entrance to the building. Visitors will be required to press an intercom and state that they have attained a temporary privileges card before being admitted.

These changes in service have been designed to better protect collections and Library readers.

Mudd Library hours: 8:30 a.m. - 4:45 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Privileges Office Hours, Sterling Memorial Library: 8:30 a.m.- 4:45 p.m., Monday through Friday.
