Library School Information Session and ReceptionThe University Library’s Standing Committee on Professional Awareness and Diversity Council are sponsoring a library school information session and reception on Thursday, October 18 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Sterling Memorial Library lecture hall.
All members of the Yale community considering or interested in a career as a librarian, archivist, or information manager are invited to learn more about these evolving, challenging, and in-demand professions. Representatives from local and area library school programs including Drexel eLearning/Drexel, Long Island, and Southern Connecticut State Universities, Simmons College, and the Universities of Illinois and Rhode Island will be attending. Literature and alumni representatives who work in the Yale Library will also be available from the Universities of Arizona, Hawaii, Pittsburgh, Toronto, Wisconsin-Madison and Catholic, Syracuse, and Indiana Universities. Dr. Alice Prochaska, Yale University Librarian, and Dr. Edward Harris, Dean of the School of Communication, Information & Library Science at Southern Connecticut State University, will make brief keynote remarks.
