Integrated Library Technology Services Current Projects

Task Name: Authority Control Processing Backlog

Task Description: Authority control processing for our ongoing cataloging is under suspension, but may be available very soon. Our libraries catalog approximately 10,000 records/month. These records are extracted from Orbis, sent out for authority control processing and then reloaded to Orbis. Roughly 90,000 records have accumulated in this ongoing cataloging backlog since AC processing was suspended. Extracting these 90,000 records over a period of 8 weeks, reloading the corrected bibliographic records and corresponding authority records will become the load priority once Backstage is fully approved by our Cataloging department. Oct is the anticipated date for this approval.
