The following information may be helpful in troubleshooting network configuration issues.
Checking DNS Settings:
1) Right click My Network Places and select Properties.
2) Highlight the Local Area Network Connection, right click, and select Properties.
3) Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click the properties button.
4) Click the Advanced button.
5) Click the DNS tab.
The DNS servers should be:
130.132.1.9
130.132.1.10
130.132.1.11
The order is not important.
The radio button for “Append These DNS Suffixes (in order)” should be checked, and the suffixes should be as follows in this order:
library.yale.edu
yu.yale.edu
its.yale.edu
cis.yale.edu
Checking WINS Settings:
1) Right click My Network Places and select Properties.
2) Highlight the Local Area Network Connection, right click, and select Properties.
3) Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click the properties button.
4) Click the Advanced button.
5) Click the WINS tab.
The WINS addresses should be 130.132.21.71, and 130.132.21.58.
Edit entries as required.
