About Science of Synthesis
The Science of Synthesis is the Fifth Edition of the Houben-Weyl series. Topic-specific coverage containing critical analyses of all prior literature. This set is continuing to expand. This database is structure searchable. Note: Plug-ins are available for structure searching in Science of Synthesis (see "More Information" below). Houben-Weyl online, the Archive of the earlier 1st through 4th edition of Houben-Weyl, is the standard synthetic chemistry methods encyclopedia. It is a reference series for preparative methods in organic chemistry, in which all methods are organized according to the class of compound or functional group to be synthesized. This tool provides a comprehensive and critical selection of reliable organic and organometallic synthetic methods. Methods from journals, books and patent literature from the early 1800s are selected by leading chemists in the field. The online version is published in English and includes all volumes published since 1952. Other Versions: The paper copies of the 4th Edition are in the Chemistry Library Reference area: Methoden der organischen Chemie (Houben-Weyl) Sterling Chemistry Library QD258 H68 1952 and QD258 H68 1982
